Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Erminia amongst the Shepherds; and Rinaldo and Armida in the Garden of Delights by Gaetano Gandolfi was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 437,500.00 (€ 375,633.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gaetano Gandolfi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Diana and Callisto in January 2010 with an auction result of USD 4,114,500.00 (€ 2,966,474.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Erminia amongst the Shepherds; and Rinaldo and Armida in the Garden of Delights von Gaetano Gandolfi kam im Oktober 2020 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 437.500,00 (€ 375.633,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gaetano Gandolfi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Diana and Callisto im Januar 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.114.500,00 (€ 2.966.474,41).
