Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction From Taddeo to Tiepolo: The Dr. John O’Brien Collection of Old Master Drawings, which included the work Architectural Study by Gaetano Gandolfi. The price achieved of USD 3,528.00 (€ 2,907.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gaetano Gandolfi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Diana and Callisto in January 2010 with an auction result of USD 4,114,500.00 (€ 2,966,474.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion From Taddeo to Tiepolo: The Dr. John O’Brien Collection of Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Architectural Study von Gaetano Gandolfi zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.528,00 (€ 2.907,29) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gaetano Gandolfi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Diana and Callisto im Januar 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.114.500,00 (€ 2.966.474,41).
