Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hanging Rainbow by Gabriel Kuri was auctioned at Phillips in London in December 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 10,184.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gabriel Kuri - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Adult Diaper, which sold at auction in May 2013 for USD 47,500.00 (€ 36,572.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Hanging Rainbow von Gabriel Kuri kam im Dezember 2015 bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 10.184,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Gabriel Kuri mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Adult Diaper beobachtet, die im Mai 2013 für USD 47.500,00 (€ 36.572,22) versteigert wurde.
