Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Angel by Gabriel Barredo. It changed hands for a price of HKD 87,500.00 (€ 9,852.63) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gabriel Barredo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tree of Life, which sold at auction in May 2006 for HKD 216,000.00 (€ 21,695.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Angel von Gabriel Barredo zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 87.500,00 (€ 9.852,63) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gabriel Barredo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tree of Life beobachtet, die im Mai 2006 für HKD 216.000,00 (€ 21.695,94) versteigert wurde.
