This artwork by Feng Mingqiu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2021. In the Contemporary Art Asia auction, the work Treatise On Calligraphy - Yellow Wen Tun What? Wonton sold for USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,644.64) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Feng Mingqiu; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Light Form Script: Heart Sutra (Two Works) sold at auction in April 2015 with the realized price of HKD 137,500.00 (€ 15,890.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Feng Mingqiu erzielte im März 2021 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Asia wurde die Arbeit Treatise On Calligraphy - Yellow Wen Tun What? Wonton für USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.644,64) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Feng Mingqiu; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Light Form Script: Heart Sutra (Two Works) im April 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 137.500,00 (€ 15.890,97).
