Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2010 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters and 19th Century Art, which included the work Amusing correspondence by Fritz Wagner. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,208.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Fritz Wagner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Literary Gathering in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 15,600.00 (€ 23,120.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Amusing correspondence von Fritz Wagner zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.208,36) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fritz Wagner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Literary Gathering im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.600,00 (€ 23.120,19).
