Auction result well in line with expectations
In December this year Christies in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work Sunset over L'Elle river, near Quimperlé, France by Frits Thaulow. The price achieved of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 58,058.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 45,000.00 – 55,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frits Thaulow - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Snødekt by med elv og foss (Snow-covered town with waterfall), which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 96,500.00 (€ 122,752.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sunset over L'Elle river, near Quimperlé, France von Frits Thaulow zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 50.400,00 (€ 58.058,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 45.000,00 – 55.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Frits Thaulow mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Snødekt by med elv og foss (Snow-covered town with waterfall) beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für GBP 96.500,00 (€ 122.752,22) versteigert wurde.
