Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu & Icons, which included the work A young lady, in white dress with blue stole over her right shoulder, pearls in her curling fair hair by Friedrich Ludwig Vieth von Goldenau. The price achieved of GBP 360.00 (€ 533.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Friedrich Ludwig Vieth von Goldenau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A young lady, facing left in lace-bordered blue velvet dress, triple strand pearl necklace, flowers in her upswept dark curling fair in April 2002 with an auction result of GBP 5,640.00 (€ 9,125.37).
