Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2007 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction British & Continental Paintings, which included the work Woodland Walk by Frederick William Hulme. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,179.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick William Hulme achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sheep resting in a woodland glade, a traveller looking on in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 33,460.00 (€ 52,396.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2007 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion British & Continental Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Woodland Walk von Frederick William Hulme zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.160,00 (€ 3.179,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick William Hulme erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sheep resting in a woodland glade, a traveller looking on im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 33.460,00 (€ 52.396,64).
