Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures, which included the work Bettws-Y-Coed by Frederick William Hulme. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,800.00 (€ 16,006.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick William Hulme - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sheep resting in a woodland glade, a traveller looking on, which sold at auction in November 2002 for GBP 33,460.00 (€ 52,396.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bettws-Y-Coed von Frederick William Hulme zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.800,00 (€ 16.006,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Frederick William Hulme mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sheep resting in a woodland glade, a traveller looking on beobachtet, die im November 2002 für GBP 33.460,00 (€ 52.396,64) versteigert wurde.
