Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work A swan with cygnets on a river before Ripon Cathedral by Frederick William Hulme for GBP 29.38 (€ 42.18). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 100.00 – 200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick William Hulme achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sheep resting in a woodland glade, a traveller looking on in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 33,460.00 (€ 52,396.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im August 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A swan with cygnets on a river before Ripon Cathedral von Frederick William Hulme für GBP 29,38 (€ 42,18) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 100,00 – 200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick William Hulme erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sheep resting in a woodland glade, a traveller looking on im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 33.460,00 (€ 52.396,64).
