Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work Snowdon, North Wales by Frederick William Hulme for GBP 8,812.50 (€ 14,403.68). This price was achieved in the auction VICTORIAN PICTURES at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick William Hulme - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sheep resting in a woodland glade, a traveller looking on, which sold at auction in November 2002 for GBP 33,460.00 (€ 52,396.64).
