Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A wooded landscape with a cattle and cottage beyond by Frederick Waters Watts was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2018. The price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,810.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick Waters Watts have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dedham Lock on the River Stour in May this year with an auction result of GBP 40,320.00 (€ 46,912.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A wooded landscape with a cattle and cottage beyond von Frederick Waters Watts kam im Juli 2018 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 9.810,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick Waters Watts auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dedham Lock on the River Stour im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.320,00 (€ 46.912,59).
