Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2014 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Wooded Landscape With Figures In A Boat, Cottages Beyond by Frederick Waters Watts. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,933.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Waters Watts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dedham Lock on the River Stour in May this year with an auction result of GBP 40,320.00 (€ 46,912.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Wooded Landscape With Figures In A Boat, Cottages Beyond von Frederick Waters Watts zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.933,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick Waters Watts erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dedham Lock on the River Stour im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.320,00 (€ 46.912,59).
