Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work British a Wooded Landscape With Cattle And A Cottage Beyond by Frederick Waters Watts for USD 17,500.00 (€ 16,543.77). This price was achieved in the auction European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick Waters Watts - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dedham Lock on the River Stour, which sold at auction in May this year for GBP 40,320.00 (€ 46,912.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit British a Wooded Landscape With Cattle And A Cottage Beyond von Frederick Waters Watts für USD 17.500,00 (€ 16.543,77) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion European Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Frederick Waters Watts mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dedham Lock on the River Stour beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für GBP 40.320,00 (€ 46.912,59) versteigert wurde.
