Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work British a Wooded Landscape With Cattle And A Cottage Beyond by Frederick Waters Watts for USD 17,500.00 (€ 16,543.77). This price was achieved in the auction European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick Waters Watts - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dedham Lock on the River Stour, which sold at auction in May this year for GBP 40,320.00 (€ 46,912.59).
