This artwork by Frederick Ronald Williams achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2007. In the Modern and Contemporary Australian ArtIncluding Works by New Zealand and South African Artists auction, the work Marked Grave, Erith, No. 2 sold for GBP 38,900.00 (€ 52,858.50) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 16,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Ronald Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Upwey Landscape in April 2006 with an auction result of AUD 1,807,000.00 (€ 1,086,862.40).

In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Australian ArtIncluding Works by New Zealand and South African Artists wurde die Arbeit Marked Grave, Erith, No. 2 für GBP 38.900,00 (€ 52.858,50) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 16.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick Ronald Williams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Upwey Landscape im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 1.807.000,00 (€ 1.086.862,40).
