Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Fred Cuming achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in March this year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Dover Cliffs From The Ferry sold for GBP 3,570.00 (€ 4,061.56) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fred Cuming - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Setting Sun Across the Bay, which sold at auction in November 2021 for GBP 8,925.00 (€ 10,478.79).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Fred Cuming erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Dover Cliffs From The Ferry für GBP 3.570,00 (€ 4.061,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Fred Cuming mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Setting Sun Across the Bay beobachtet, die im November 2021 für GBP 8.925,00 (€ 10.478,79) versteigert wurde.
