In April 2010 Christies in London held the auction Travel, Science and Natural History, which included the work Well and building at Sabachtsché (Yucatán) by Frederick Catherwood. The price achieved of GBP 32,450.00 (€ 37,343.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Other works by Frederick Catherwood have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2005 the work General view of Kabah (Yucatán) was auctioned for GBP 38,400.00 (€ 56,354.82).
