Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction Travel & Natural History, which included the work View of Absalom at Jerusalem; Lower Pool of Gihon, Jerusalem; Convent at Bethlehem on the approaches from Jerusalem; General view of Gerash in the Decapolis; and Gerash in the Ancient Decapolis by Frederick Catherwood. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,880.00 (€ 4,238.11) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Catherwood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work General view of Kabah (Yucatán) in September 2005 with an auction result of GBP 38,400.00 (€ 56,354.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Travel & Natural History durch, in der auch die Arbeit View of Absalom at Jerusalem; Lower Pool of Gihon, Jerusalem; Convent at Bethlehem on the approaches from Jerusalem; General view of Gerash in the Decapolis; and Gerash in the Ancient Decapolis von Frederick Catherwood zur Versteigerung kam.
