Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Venus in Sunlight (Study B) by Frederick Carl Frieseke was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 75,000.00 (€ 68,064.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Carl Frieseke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Garden in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 2,407,500.00 (€ 2,275,950.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Venus in Sunlight (Study B) von Frederick Carl Frieseke kam im November 2019 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 68.064,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick Carl Frieseke erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Garden im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.407.500,00 (€ 2.275.950,09).
