In September 2021 Christies held the auction An Aesthetic Odyssey: The Peter Rose and Albert Gallichan Collection, which included the work Sketch For Drapery In 'Greek Girls Playing At Ball' by Frederic Leighton. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,271.96), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederic Leighton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Golden Hours in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 3,274,500.00 (€ 3,930,468.55).
