Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A young gentleman, in red-piped blue coat with red high collar and large buttons, white-lined fawn-coloured waistcoat, pleated and knotted cravat by Frédéric Dubois was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2007. The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,500.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frédéric Dubois - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work General Petr (Varfolomei) Andreevich Kikin (1775-1834), in military uniform of black coat with gold-embroidered red collar and gold epaulettes, wearing orders including the red sash and breast-star of the Imperial Russian Order of St. Alexander Nevsk, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 13,127.4
