This price was achieved in the auction Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of G Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Frédéric Dubois; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot General Petr (Varfolomei) Andreevich Kikin (1775-1834), in military uniform of black coat with gold-embroidered red collar and gold epaulettes, wearing orders including the red sash and breast-star of the Imperial Russian Order of St. Alexander Nevsk sold at auction in November 2007 with the realized price of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 13,127.
