Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2008 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Australian mason'S Falls by Fred Williams. The price achieved of AUD 324,000.00 (€ 189,134.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 280,000.00 – 350,000.00. Admittedly, works by Fred Williams have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian Hillside I, 1965 in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 1,920,000.00 (€ 1,148,115.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2008 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian mason'S Falls von Fred Williams zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 324.000,00 (€ 189.134,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 280.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fred Williams auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian Hillside I, 1965 im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 1.920.000,00 (€ 1.148.115,24).
