In the Travel, Science and Natural History auction, the work Wood boring wasp catching its prey: eleven diagrams showing the stages of the capture; seven diagrams showing the anatomy and life cycle of wasp and hover fly sold for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 5,912.40) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fred Enock - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Willow Saw Fly: nineteen diagrams showing the anatomy, habits of saw flies and their larvae, which sold at auction in April 2011 for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 12,669.44).
