Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The tiger beetle: seventeen diagrams showing the anatomy of Cicindelia campestris by Fred Enock was sold in the Travel, Science and Natural History auction at Christies in London in April 2011. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,750.00 (€ 1,970.80) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by Fred Enock have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Willow Saw Fly: nineteen diagrams showing the anatomy, habits of saw flies and their larvae in April 2011 with an auction result of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 12,669.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The tiger beetle: seventeen diagrams showing the anatomy of Cicindelia campestris von Fred Enock wurde im April 2011 in der Auktion Travel, Science and Natural History bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 1.970,80) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fred Enock auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Willow Saw Fly: nineteen diagrams showing the anatomy, habits of saw flies and their larvae im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 12.669,44).
