Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An abundant still life with spring and summer flowers in an urn, with fruit, on a marble ledge by Franz Xaver Petter was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2010. The price achieved of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 44,788.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Franz Xaver Petter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Roses, parrot tulips, an iris, daffodils, peonies, morning-glory and other flowers with a Red Admiral, a bee and other insects in a sculpted urn with peaches and grapes on a marble ledge, which sold at auction in July 2014 for GBP 104,500.00 (€ 131,807.36).
