This artwork by Franz Xaver Petter achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in April 2011. In the Old Masters & 19th Century Art auction, the work A still-life of flowers with grapes, peaches and plums on a stone ledge in a niche sold for GBP 37,250.00 (€ 41,949.92) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Franz Xaver Petter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Roses, parrot tulips, an iris, daffodils, peonies, morning-glory and other flowers with a Red Admiral, a bee and other insects in a sculpted urn with peaches and grapes on a marble ledge, which sold at auction in July 2014 for GBP 104,500.00 (€ 131,807.36).
