Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 16,250.00 (€ 12,216.21). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Franz Bergman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Austrian Ottoman Princess Riding An Elephant, A Table Lamp, which sold at auction in October 2009 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 33,886.82).

Die Arbeit Austrian Seated Bedouin Guard, A Table Lamp von Franz Bergman kam im April 2010 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 16.250,00 (€ 12.216,21) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Franz Bergman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Austrian Ottoman Princess Riding An Elephant, A Table Lamp beobachtet, die im Oktober 2009 für USD 50.000,00 (€ 33.886,82) versteigert wurde.
