Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction The Gentleman's Library Sale, which included the work An unusual cold painted bronze metamorphic female figure of 'The thief' by Franz Bergman. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,275.00 (€ 1,470.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Franz Bergman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Austrian Ottoman Princess Riding An Elephant, A Table Lamp in October 2009 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 33,886.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Gentleman's Library Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit An unusual cold painted bronze metamorphic female figure of 'The thief' von Franz Bergman zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.275,00 (€ 1.470,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Franz Bergman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Austrian Ottoman Princess Riding An Elephant, A Table Lamp im Oktober 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 33.886,82).
