Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sans titre by František Kupka was auctioned at Christies in Skinner Marlborough, Mass in October this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 22,680.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by František Kupka achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Jaillissement II (Tryskání II) in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 7,551,600.00 (€ 8,871,184.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sans titre von František Kupka im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Christies in Skinner Marlborough, Mass versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 22.680,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von František Kupka erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Jaillissement II (Tryskání II) im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.551.600,00 (€ 8.871.184,71).
