Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two girls on the beach (recto); study of a building (verso) by Frans Smeers was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Art auction at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2009. The price achieved of EUR 3,750.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frans Smeers - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Belgian Zomer, which sold at auction in December 2007 for EUR 13,450.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Two girls on the beach (recto); study of a building (verso) von Frans Smeers wurde im November 2009 in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 3.750,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Frans Smeers mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Belgian Zomer beobachtet, die im Dezember 2007 für EUR 13.450,00 versteigert wurde.
