Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cleopatra In Babylon by Frank Wasley was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours auction at Christies in London in June 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,600.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank Wasley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work St. Paul's from the South Bank, which sold at auction in March 2003 for GBP 3,760.00 (€ 5,446.83).
