Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2002 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations, which included the work Partridges before a bed of reeds by Frank Southgate. The price achieved of GBP 587.50 (€ 908.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Admittedly, works by Frank Southgate have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Partridge Alighting On A Corn Field in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,736.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations durch, in der auch die Arbeit Partridges before a bed of reeds von Frank Southgate zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 587,50 (€ 908,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Southgate auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Partridge Alighting On A Corn Field im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.736,81).
