It achieved a price of USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,681.77), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Admittedly, works by Frank Paul Sauerwein have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pottery Vendor in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 7,637.50 (€ 9,033.12).

Die Arbeit Apache Head von Frank Paul Sauerwein wurde im Mai 2019 in der Auktion American Art Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 1.875,00 (€ 1.681,77) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Paul Sauerwein auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pottery Vendor im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.637,50 (€ 9.033,12).
