Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Frank Paul Sauerwein achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2019. In the American Art Online auction, the work Colorado Indians in a Snowstorm sold for USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,373.63) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Frank Paul Sauerwein; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Pottery Vendor sold at auction in May 2001 with the realized price of USD 7,637.50 (€ 9,033.12).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Frank Paul Sauerwein erzielte im November 2019 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art Online wurde die Arbeit Colorado Indians in a Snowstorm für USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.373,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Frank Paul Sauerwein; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Pottery Vendor im Mai 2001 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 7.637,50 (€ 9.033,12).
