Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Western Art, which included the work Out of the High Country 24 x 40 in. framed 34 x 50 in. by Frank McCarthy. The »bidding war« ended at USD 17,850.00 (€ 17,291.49), 19% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank McCarthy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Along The Rim; The Column Came, which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,753.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Western Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Out of the High Country 24 x 40 in. framed 34 x 50 in. von Frank McCarthy zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 17.850,00 (€ 17.291,49) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Frank McCarthy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Along The Rim; The Column Came beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für USD 52.500,00 (€ 47.753,32) versteigert wurde.
