A top price for Frank McCarthy - as previously expected
The work Along The Rim; The Column Came by Frank McCarthy was sold in the Visions of the West: American Paintings from the William I. Koch Collection auction at Christies in New York in May 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,753.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Along The Rim; The Column Came is the most expensive artwork by Frank McCarthy that we have observed at auctions so far.
