Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Majestic America: Property from an Important Western Collector, Part II, which included the work After the Raid by Frank McCarthy. The price achieved of USD 17,640.00 (€ 15,021.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank McCarthy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Along The Rim; The Column Came, which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,753.32).

Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Majestic America: Property from an Important Western Collector, Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit After the Raid von Frank McCarthy zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 17.640,00 (€ 15.021,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Frank McCarthy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Along The Rim; The Column Came beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für USD 52.500,00 (€ 47.753,32) versteigert wurde.
