Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work Above the Rim by Frank McCarthy for USD 43,750.00 (€ 39,794.43). This price was achieved in the auction Visions of the West: American Paintings from the William I. Koch Collection at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Frank McCarthy have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2015 by the work Along The Rim; The Column Came at USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,753.32).
