Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Frank McCarthy could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work Charge Of The Buffalo Soldiers changed hands for USD 37,000.00 (€ 23,778.92) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank McCarthy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Along The Rim; The Column Came, which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,753.32).
