Auction result well in line with expectations

The work The New Hat by Frank Coburn was sold in the CALIFORNIA WESTERN&AMERICAN PAINTINGS DRAWINGS&SCULPTURE auction at Christies in Los Angeles in October 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,055.00 (€ 3,600.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Coburn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Busy Downtown Evening (Los Angeles) in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 50,075.00 (€ 44,705.83).
