Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Julia by Frank Auerbach was sold in the Made in Britain / Online auction at Sothebys in London in November 2018. The price achieved of GBP 1,750.00 (€ 1,973.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Auerbach achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Head of Gerda Boehm in June last year with an auction result of GBP 4,149,000.00 (€ 4,819,957.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Julia von Frank Auerbach wurde im November 2018 in der Auktion Made in Britain / Online bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 1.973,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Auerbach erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Head of Gerda Boehm im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.149.000,00 (€ 4.819.957,78).
