Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Le hibou by Françoise Gilot was worth GBP 17,850.00 (€ 20,343.18) to a buyer in April this year. This price was achieved in the auction Impressionist & Modern Art at Bonhams and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Françoise Gilot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Living Forest in December 2021 with an auction result of HKD 9,850,000.00 (€ 1,115,718.32).

Die Arbeit Le hibou von Françoise Gilot war einem Käufer im April diesen Jahres GBP 17.850,00 (€ 20.343,18) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art bei Bonhams erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Françoise Gilot erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Living Forest im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 9.850.000,00 (€ 1.115.718,32).
