This artwork by Françoise Gilot achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2021. In the 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale auction, the work Living Forest sold for HKD 9,850,000.00 (€ 1,115,718.32) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 5,000,000.00. This high result makes Living Forest the most expensive artwork by Françoise Gilot that we have observed at auctions so far.
