Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2009 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Drawings, which included the work The death of Saul; and Arria and Paetus by François-Xavier Fabre. The price achieved of USD 3,500.00 (€ 2,733.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François-Xavier Fabre achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Edgar Clarke, Full-Length, In A Forest in June 2007 with an auction result of USD 336,000.00 (€ 248,520.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2009 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The death of Saul; and Arria and Paetus von François-Xavier Fabre zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.500,00 (€ 2.733,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von François-Xavier Fabre erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of Edgar Clarke, Full-Length, In A Forest im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 336.000,00 (€ 248.520,71).
