The »bidding war« ended at USD 16,800.00 (€ 12,925.07), 68% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François-Xavier Fabre achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Edgar Clarke, Full-Length, In A Forest in June 2007 with an auction result of USD 336,000.00 (€ 248,520.71).
