A top price for François Pompon - as previously expected
The work Ours Blanc by François Pompon was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in London in June 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 329,000.00 (€ 463,885.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Ours Blanc is the most expensive artwork by François Pompon that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Ours Blanc von François Pompon wurde im Juni 2015 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 329.000,00 (€ 463.885,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Ours Blanc das teuerste Kunstwerk von François Pompon, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
