Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 31,250.00 (€ 24,668.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François de Troy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Feast Of Dido And Aeneas: An Allegorical Portrait Of The Family Of The Duc And Duchesse Du Maine in June 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,776,000.00 (€ 1,313,609.47).
