In May 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters, which included the work Portrait Of A Lady As Venus, Disarming Cupid by François de Troy. The result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,791.64) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François de Troy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Feast Of Dido And Aeneas: An Allegorical Portrait Of The Family Of The Duc And Duchesse Du Maine in June 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,776,000.00 (€ 1,313,609.47).
